What an amazing last year I had with Taylor Negron! Taylor was
productive and giving from the first day we met 10 years ago. That day
he gave a girl in my shop his bandanna and she didn’t want it. We
always joked about it! We stayed together in my shop for 2 hrs.
frolicking with his friend Roy and that girl. A few months later he
and I found ourselves together in a conference room with a production
house to make a web series out of our experience of the first time we
met.
The important thing to me is that we fell platonic-ally in love
immediately. I loved being around him because he was so good and kind
and considerate. Taylor was extremely articulate and had the best
manners of anyone I have ever met. I have not heard him say a
negative thing about anyone or anything, only funny things! Taylor was so busy this past year that he was hard to keep up with! He traversed from Cali to NYC often, working and meeting up with friends like Sandra Bernhard and playing ping-pong at Paula Poundstone’s with her and her kids having a blast, he said! He and I went to lunch on Rodeo Dr.with Greg Cope White and 2 other very cool new friends. We sat in the rotunda on the patio in the #1 table and ate delicious salads.
On our way from the valet to the lunch spot, we walked into the downstairs of the Frank Lloyd Wright building on Rodeo Dr. and the make-up sales people wanted their pics taken with Tay, and they put us in chairs and did our “moisturizer only” because we didn’t want to be late for lunch. It was a “Pretty Woman” moment. Later that week Taylor showed his paintings in a beautiful Exhibition that I attended. I am convinced that he is a world class painter, and he knew because I told him; and he just knew, because it’s true.
6 months ago I watched his stand-up routine with Logan Heftel at the Uncaberet from first row center. I laughed and had such a great time seeing and visiting with so many friends and wonderful people afterwards. The experiences Taylor involved me in were unique. Just a couple of months ago he and Logan did stand-up together at the Famous Annenberg Beach House. I watched the audience laugh and cry from his extraordinary wit and
Logan’s angelic presence accompanying Taylor. Afterwards we sat at a
table in the sand right next to the Marion Davies Guest House and
visited in the warm night beach air for hours. We were in a magnificent
place and the 5 of us had a most memorable time. Just a couple of
months ago we went to a stupendous soiree at a mansion on Mulholland
with the view and digs of a lifetime of beautiful accomplishments. The
Host and Hostess were lovely and impressive. Every person there was
dressed in the most fine of black tie attire. The ladies were the most
beautiful and well mannered, yet very fun! So fun, in fact, that I know
the Royal Family would be envious of that party of astute creatures. I
will not hope to have a better time at any party.
I just watched the commercial spot we made, hopefully the one you just watched, and I realize that Taylor knew he was dying soon and I did not. In hindsight now, I get a lot of his cues to me. I imagine that this stand-up in a commercial setting canvas I asked Tay to do with no rules for my new game company is a very telling expose of some of the last things he wished to convey. I used to tell him my favorite proverb, “out of the mouth of the joker comes the truth”. I asked him via facebook if he would like to do it,
and he said yes immediately and proceeded in usual Taylor diligent dear
speed. Three weeks later Taylor had written and filmed and edited with
Logan Heftel’s help, commercials for our company to have an ad
campaign.
Taylor created the character after 5 of us had lunch and
laughed about excessive celebration, and there was the birth of his
character of his own device right in the restaurant. I think he really
enjoyed the fun acting and conveyance he emblazoned in our Ballcraft Commercial for eternity! He loved me and believed very much is me, and he truly liked what I was making with BallCraft and hoped that we would become very successful. I love it when he says “ I just wanna play ball! He’s a genius.
Taylor Negron was such a fine and talented actor, painter, writer and person. I am amazed that I came in to his life and vice versa for this last
year and enjoyed my long-time friend so very much despite both of us
being pretty busy creating and working on several projects. He brought
me and my husband persimmons and pomegranates and stayed over once on a
night he arrived from NY. He looked tired from the flight, I thought. He
asked if I thought he should do “The Moth” Show. He was thinking to not
do it. I thought that was very unlike him, and I urged him to do it. He
deliberated with me about it and then stated that he would in fact do
it. I said, “Great”! He was up and gone by 5:30 that morning to work all
week with Billy Crystal. I loaned him my car for a few weeks, and he
said it was way too sexy to drive around in! We got really
psychologically deep into human nature one night at Norm’s, where we
hung out for hours but really didn’t eat! I never saw him again after I
picked up my car. I had been texting Logan every day all week last week
before Taylor passed away very privately and discreetly. I am comforted
to know he knew at least that I was wanting to get together with him
soon.
His performance in our footage is top-notch, and I realize it
more and more each minute that he is gone. I’m delighted and truly blessed to have been friends with Taylor. I will keep a plaque on my heart
that has his name on it. It will give me strength dignity courage
willingness diligence and love bonuses. : )
